This past weekend the nations of France and Greece tossed out Presidents who were supporting so-called “austerity” measures, belt-tightening budget cuts that were primarily going to hurt students, the elderly and blue-collar workers. Sound familiar? That is the gist of the Paul Ryan plan that Willard “Mitt” Romney endorses. These countries are democracies and the budget cuts proposed went after the 99% of the population, but were perceived as leaving the rich alone, without asking them to also feel the pain of cutbacks.
