CCM PRESENTS: THE BROWN WAVE

When pondering your position on current issues, don’t just think in the moment, fast forward your thinking to take into account things that are happening that might influence how you feel about certain issues, so you don’t pick fights that aren’t worth fighting.  A good example of that is on the issue of “Spanish Only” proposals by State Governments or private companies, and also on the related issue of immigration.  Days before the issuance of this blog, the worst nightmare of White Supremacists came true, there were more colored, including Latino, babies born in the United States than Ang

CAIN’S SEXUAL HARASSMENT WOES

You hear Rush Limbaugh saying that this story is brought by the left-wing media, however more vetted and better sourced the story could not have been.  You compare the stories that run on Fox News that end up disappearing after other media and people begin scrutinizing them and you can see the difference with the Cain sexual harassment story, because instead of going away it is beginning to escalate.  That could be because of the gravity of the story, which we do not know yet or it could be based on the fact that Cain denied everything at first and then has been dribbling admissions every d

NATION OF AZTLAN

Aztlan is a term used to describe the area of the United States that was inhabited centuries ago by Indian Tribes alleged to have crossed the Bering Strait when that was navigable on foot. These Indians were of Asian descent, crossed the Bering Strait and migrated southward. Aztlan would have been located in the Southwest United States, including but not limited to California, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah and Colorado. Eventually these tribes, being somewhat Nomadic, went farther south and settled in Mexico in parts dominated by the Toltecs, Aztecs and Mayans.

GAMBLING ZONE ON THE MEXICAN BORDER (preview August issue CCM)

With the debt-ceiling debate apparently at an end, save the House of “Lack of Representatives” acting to block the passage of the announced “deal”, our great Nation needs to do what it has done since it was created, that is come up with something big for ourselves that gets us back into a “boom”.   Hopefully it is not like the packaged mortgage contracts of the Bush era that were sold to investors worldwide, gave us a boom but then imploded and shook our economy to its’ core and was felt negatively throughout the world as well. There are no doubt big ideas being worked on as we write and re

One Man's Disgust With Texas HB12 Is Exactly How Most Texans Feel About It

I have attached a link to a speech made by Representative Ana Hernandez on the Texas House floor. This was sent to me from her husband. Please take the time to watch her speech on the House floor. Her speech was given after the Texas House passed HB 12, the legislation, called by Governor Rick Perry to be "emergency" legislation (although our budget crisis and the cut of billions in education was not an "emergency" according to our Governor).

It seems as though Texas legislators are following in the foot-steps of Arizona legislators with very similar bills and laws. For instance, Texas HB12, which calls for local law enforcement officials to enforce the immigration laws, was passed by the House earlier this week and it is almost identical to Arizona SB1070, which was signed into law by Gov. Brewer (R) last year. Last month, Gov. Brewer vetoed SB1467, which would have allowed concealed firearms on public college campuses and now the Texas Senate has approved a similar bill, SB354, authored by Sen.
