When I first considered voting for him, I thought “but will he make the right-wing squirm? Yes”. A brother in the White House? Oh yeah there was a definite squirm factor, maybe even more than another Clinton in the White House squirm factor. Then I thought, “oh shit, soul food on the White House menu, Motown playing throughout the ‘House’, picks in the bathroom and lotion everywhere. If I was thinking this, so was Dick Cheney, but whereas as I was giddy, he was throwing up and getting closer to that pumper giving up. Not that I wanted that, that would be too easy.
It’s actually good to see that while money definitely plays a huge part in how an election turns out, that when people feel that they are being pressured to vote a certain way, they generally rebel against that and vote another way. You could feel the coronation of Mitt Romney was underway since the beginning of the Republican Primary, endorsements from the most high-profile Republicans came fast and furious and it rained money on his campaign and PACs. GOP favorite son, Chris Christie, in exchange for the “King Makers” promise of a Vice-Presidential nod, became Romney’s fan club presiden
We hold nothing against Romney and the amount of money he is worth, estimated to be around $300,000,000, in fact many Americans, as Romney said it himself, hate on me because they are envious of me. We would not take it that far either, we know of people that have nothing, but yet smile all day long, while working, eating, playing with the kids and enjoying sex with their loved “one”. Then we know those that have it all that seem miserable all the time, worrying who’s after what they have and making sure they never lose it. Of course most of us would welcome the chance to see if we could
That old phrase that is never talked about anymore, usury, that was actually a Christian ban on making money solely off of money and for which there are biblical verses in the Christian, Jewish and Muslim books of faith:
Christian Old Testament:
[Exodus 22:25] If thou lend money to any of my people that is poor by thee, thou shalt not be to him as an usurer, neither shalt thou lay upon him usury.
“Government is too big” is one of the cornerstone mantras of the GOP and must be undressed to discover what hidden meaning may be there. Rick Santorum said on camera what most of the Candidates think, that he does not believe that “White Americans should be making Black Americans’ lives better” by supporting social programs such as welfare. There are actually more White Americans on welfare than Black Americans. We would argue that the GOP mantra and the candidates’ allowing those words to actually come out while they are on the political stump, is not by accident, but instead by design
It’s hard for us to know who the Tea Party will support in the upcoming Presidential election, but it appears they cannot stomach Mitt Romney, who himself does not openly endorse that movement either. His support for them is tepid and ends with the ideal that the Federal Government should spend less and be shrunk. The Tea Party support is easy to track, it went to Michelle Bachmann until Rick Perry jumped in, to Herman Cain when Perry imploded, to Newt Gingrich when Cain was publicly undressed and finally to Rick Santorum when Gingrich got “citizened” by Mitt Romney’s Super-Pac, but by th
We have been accused of being completely Democratic, anti-Republican and even reminded that all Chicanos (Mexican-Americans) are not Democrats. To the last point, we know that already and that is not our fault, just kidding. We would remind people that currently there is only one race and that is between the Republican Presidential hopefuls wanting to be nominated to run against Barack Obama and the fireworks emanating from that is what we have been writing about for a while. Honestly, the things we have seen coming out from their debates leaves us wondering how to write about them any o
The Iowa vote is in and it’s Romney by eight votes, and even though the Republican Party Chairman of that State said that the vote could not be certified for up to two weeks, he still congratulated Mitt Romney. You just get the feeling that before the Chairman went on television to report the results, he was advised to “seal the deal” for Romney as much as possible. Santorum is the story of the day, his meteoric rise after Gingrich got “citizened”, shot him up to practically tie for first place so fast, that Romney’s PAC could not get their attack ads up in time to attempt to sink him. Regardless of party affiliation, do not make the mistake of relying on news sound-bites, story titles or television banner news to form your opinions on what is the political reality of things. Remember that regardless of which station you watch, conflict and sensationalism sells and therefore the sound-bites are merely intended to bring you back to that channel’s show, where each sound-bite story is generally discussed further and analyzed, not by one side, but if done fairly, by both sides of the issue. This means that you will not get a true picture of what the political reality is by
