ROMNEY/RUBIO 2012

There are many who have short picks about who Mitt Romney, whose coronation as the Presidential Nominee from day one hit a few bumps, but is all but done now, will pick as his running mate, however we think we know who it will be.  We think it will be Marco Rubio, the Cuban/American Senator from Florida.  During all the debates that the Republicans had this past fall, it was obvious they were going to take a hit on the Latino vote, what with one of the candidates saying we needed an electric fence on the border and all of them supporting Arizona’s and other States’ laws that would criminalize driving or walking while looking Mexican and requiring even Chicanos (Mexican Americans) to be able to prove their citizenship.

And it is not that Rubio’s positions are much different from theirs, he also opposes the smartest minds of the children of immigrant parents, regardless of how long they have been here, getting student loans or scholarships, which forms part of the Dream Act.  But most Americans lack political acumen and have only a surface knowledge of who, what or why they are voting for, instead relying on their favorite television stations and their commentators to provide them with direction.  Many Latinos will rely on his last name alone and his ability to speak Spanish to support him.  Many will not.  Some Independents may be moved by the boldness of the move and the fact that it would represent the first Latino in the White House if they win.

The GOP is in trouble with women voters too because of their attack on Obama’s handing out of the birth-control pill for free and making woman’s preventative health deductibles zero or very low.  Rubio is young and handsome and using our previous analysis of how many Americans vote, that could help with the woman’s vote as well.  By the way, the site RomneyRubio.com and dot a few other things, is taken.
